Yet another monsoon (verse)

She stood by the window,
a silent silhouette,
watching the noisy rain.

The skies overcast,
dark and menacing;
Lightning coursing
through the darkness
at intervals
imprinting silver streaks
in the sky.

The clan on the hillside
rejoiced,
Their heads gently swaying
with the wind,
Their leaves eerily screeching
in delight.

The Parched Earth
soaked it all in;
overwhelmed
at the love pouring
from the sky.

The heady earthy aroma
wafted
into her senses
as she gazed
in wonder
at this celebration
of the changing seasons.

------------------
I dream of a monsoon
when I would step into the rain;
no longer
a mere onlooker
whilst all of nature rejoiced.

I would be under
the pouring sky,
whilst the water
drenched me from head to toe,
inundating
my senses.

How much longer
before
I break the shackles
of my inhibitions.

How many more seasons
before
I know what it is
to be the Earth;
To open out my arms
to the sky
and melt
in the warmth
of the cooling rain

The simple pleasure of life!
